Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT is different from CBT, it doesn’t work on controlling thoughts and feelings, memories and private events, instead ACT focuses on accepting, embracing private events, included unwanted ones. ACT assumes that the psychological processes of a normal human mind can tend to create psychological suffering, generated by experiential avoidance and emotional control.

The goal of ACT is to create a rich and meaningful life, while accepting any suffering that goes with it.
