What is We CAN India?
We CAN India is an educational and life-skills training institution founded by Dr. Gita Sankaran, with over 25 years of experience in autism support and inclusive education.
We provide individualized, evidence-based education, intervention and life-skills training for children, adolescents and adults.
Who do you work with?
We work with toddlers, children, adolescents and adults on the autism spectrum, as well as individuals with diverse developmental and learning needs.
What age groups do you support?
We support individuals across different developmental stages. Program suitability depends on the individual’s needs, goals and level of support required.
ASSESSMENT & INTERVENTION
What services does We CAN offer?
Our services include:
Autism Assessment & Diagnosis — including ADOS-2 as part of a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation
ADHD Assessment — including the Brown ADD Scales, where appropriate
ABA Intervention — individualized Applied Behavior Analysis programs
Life Skills Training — building everyday independence
Community-Based Learning — practising skills in real-world settings
Vocational & Livelihood Training — developing skills for meaningful adult participation
Parent Guidance — practical support and professional consultations
Emotional Well-being — approaches such as ACT, where appropriate
Holistic Activities — including yoga, fitness, Carnatic music, weaving and hydroponic gardening
How is an intervention plan decided?
We begin by understanding the individual’s needs through assessment, observation and family input.
Where appropriate, assessments may include ADOS-2, VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R or Essential for Living.
The team then develops an individualized plan based on the learner’s needs, goals and priorities.
Is the program individualized?
Yes.
Every learner’s program is based on their strengths, current skills, needs and goals.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach.
How often will my child attend?
We operate within a structured academic calendar with three terms and scheduled breaks.
Children generally attend five days a week, with the structure and intensity of the program determined by their individual needs.
COMMUNICATION & PROGRESS
Do you provide progress reports?
Yes.
Families receive regular updates through:
- Communication diaries
- Periodic progress reports
- Direct communication with the team
Parents can also communicate with BCBAs and relevant team members by email, phone or WhatsApp.
ACADEMICS
What about academics?
For learners who are academically ready, we support pathways towards formal qualifications through NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling), including private candidature where appropriate.
Academic goals are considered alongside functional and independence goals.
DAILY LIFE AT WE CAN
Is there a uniform?
Yes.
Learners wear the We CAN uniform. Both regular and sports uniforms are available, with details provided at admission.
FEES & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
How much does the program cost?
Fees depend on the learner’s program, level of support and intensity of intervention.
Current annual fees range from ₹1,80,000 to ₹6,60,000.
Fees are paid term-wise.
The final fee is determined based on the individual’s program and level of professional support required.
Do you offer scholarships or financial assistance?
Yes.
Through the We CAN Trust, families who may not be able to meet the full cost of a program may be considered for financial assistance, including subsidized or fully supported education and intervention.
Support depends on individual need and the availability of Trust funds.

How do I enrol?
Start by contacting us to arrange an initial consultation and assessment.
We will then discuss the individual’s needs, suitable programs, recommendations and next steps with the family.
