Lifelong Learning for Neurodiverse Individuals (16–45 years)
The Seniors Program at We CAN India is a structured, real-world learning environment for adolescents and adults on the autism spectrum. The focus is simple: build skills that translate into independence, work, and everyday life.
Who it is for -
Individuals aged 16 to 45 years who benefit from support in communication, vocational skills, and independent living.

Program Focus Areas
1. Vocational & Skill-Based Learning
Hands-on skills with real-world application:
- Hydroponics: Climate-controlled, in-house growing systems
- We CAN Shop: Managing an in-house store featuring products made at We CAN and ethically sourced partner goods
- Farming & Gardening
- Weaving & Crafts
- Catering & Culinary Program: Cooking, food prep, kitchen routines, and basic catering skills.
2. Community & Functional Living
Learning by doing in real environments:
- Going to shops (purchasing, money handling, making choices)
- Visits to restaurants (ordering, social behaviour, waiting, payment)
- Community navigation and practical independence
3. Social & Communication Skills
- Conversation skills
- Understanding social situations
- Group interaction and peer engagement
4. Independent Living Skills
- Daily routines and responsibility
- Task completion and time awareness
- Functional decision-making
5. Counselling & Trauma-Informed Emotional Support
- One-on-one counselling for neurodiverse individuals

Mobile Shop Initiative
Our mobile shop brings We CAN into the community, with visits to gated residences such as Prestige Sholinganallur, Hiranandani OMR, and Atrium, Thiruvanmiyur—creating opportunities for real transactions, interaction, and vocational practice.
These experiences build confidence, independence, and genuine community participation.
